In the store stamps are graded with a standard series of abbreviations.
Most of the stamps I sell are either "Post Office Fresh" or "Mint Never Hinged", which is abreviated as MNH; or they are used stamps. Note these grades are guidelines only and most stamps I sell are pictured to avoid confusion over condition.

Fine - off center used stamps may have a heavy cancellation |

Fine Very Fine - Some what off center perforated stamps - perforations are well clear of the design used stamps cancellation does not marr the design |

Very Fine - Design may be slightly off center but well clear of borders used stamps with light non blurry cancellations |
XF |
Extremely Fine - close to perfect centering perfoations are clear of design on all sides |
