In the store all stamps are identified both by a photograph and the Scott numbering system.
The Scott system assigns an individual catalogue number to each stamp so collectors and dealers can easily differentiate between stamps. Stamps are numbered sequentially, the first stamp being issued would be Scott #1 the second Scott #2 and so on.
Regular stamps are identified with a number, however some are preceded by a letter to show a different status such as an airmail or postage due. The following table shows some of these prefixes.
